About Natarta

A free guardian against scams, fraud and fake news

Natarta is an independent project run by Salman, an independent creator based in the US.

Natarta started from a simple idea: help against scams shouldn’t cost a monthly fee, show ads, or ask for an account and more of your personal details. The people who need it most, like parents, grandparents and anyone in a hurry, should get it free.

So Salman built Natarta: one calm place to check a text, email, link, phone number or headline before you act, with plain next steps if something already went wrong. Free for everyone, with no ads and no account.

Why it’s free

Staying safe shouldn’t depend on what you can pay. The checker runs on your own device, which keeps it private and costs very little to run. The website and the optional AI run on our hosting provider’s free plans for now, within daily limits.

How it’s paid for

Natarta runs on free and low-cost services. Optional tips from Guardians help pay for the web address, hosting and app-store fees. Tipping unlocks nothing: everyone gets the same Natarta.

What Natarta is, and isn’t

Natarta flags warning signs of scams, fraud and fake news. It doesn’t fact-check news or rate news outlets, it can’t recover lost money, and it isn’t part of any government, bank, carrier or police. It’s a helper, not a guarantee: no checker catches everything.

What we will never do

  • Show ads or sell your information.
  • Make you create an account to check something.
  • Put protection behind a paywall.
  • Use pop-ups or scary alarms to push you.
  • Promise 100% protection.

What this would cost elsewhere

Paid identity-theft protection plans cost about $14 to $16 a month for one person, on average, and $20 to $30 a month for a family. That’s roughly $168 to $192 a year for one person.

Those plans include things Natarta doesn’t do, like credit monitoring and insurance. What Natarta does do, checking messages, links, numbers and headlines for warning signs and giving you next steps, is free.

Some protection is free by law: freezing your credit costs nothing to place or lift.

Natarta costs $0. No trial, no card, no account.

Accessibility

We want everyone to be able to use Natarta, including people who use screen readers, larger text, voice control or high contrast. We aim to meet the WCAG 2.2 AA guidelines and test contrast, labels and keyboard use in light and dark mode. If anything is hard to use, email us and we’ll fix it.
